As an Immigration Services Officer, you will adjudicate complex cases, provide oversight to lower-level Officers, and perform analytical and evaluative work supporting USCIS program activities.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
  • Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure
  • Must pass a drug screening
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service
  • Residency Requirement: Candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
  • May be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
  • One (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Experience performing the majority of the following duties: Making final determinations on complex and fraud-prone immigration cases; Conducting reviews and assessing junior staff casework for adherence to applicable immigration laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; Providing training, coaching, or mentoring to ensure quality and consistency in the immigration adjudications process.

Responsibilities

  • Developing standard operating policies and procedures designed to detect and prevent benefit fraud and monitor progress to determine if objectives are being met
