About The Position

World Relief serves immigrants in Sacramento with immigration legal services and is a Department of Justice-recognized immigration legal services provider. This position exists to increase capacity primarily with cases submitted on behalf of Afghan individuals. The position will assist the supervising attorney, program manager, and other accredited staff in the processing and collection of paperwork, preparing applications, document assembly, mailing of USCIS applications, case review, and scheduling appointments. This is a temporary part-time position of 15 hours per week funded through a grant agreement until August 5th, 2026. The schedule is two days per week, with one day in the office and one day remote.

Requirements

  • Strong relational skills and demonstrated cross-cultural understanding
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and organize in a fast-paced and fluid environment
  • High level of interest in and participation in training events related to immigration processes
  • Prior experience with Immigration Case Management (LawLogix)
  • Familiar with Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with staff in the collection of information and documents for clients’ cases
  • Assess prospective clients (over the phone and in-person) for service eligibility and assist with intake, information collection, and appointment scheduling, including administering reminder calls
  • Assist with prompt filing and data entry of all correspondence from the government and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate client and/or ILS staff member
  • Coordinate with clients and prepare applications for clients under the supervision of accredited or licensed staff
  • Record client information in the ILS case management system (LawLogix) and maintain organized case files
  • Attend ILS team meetings on scheduled work days
  • Assist program manager with grant data collection and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned
