About The Position

The Immigration Consultant supports the Truist Immigration Program with strong regulatory and compliance knowledge of the U.S. employment based immigration process. Responsible for supporting a high volume end to end case load in a fast paced, highly regulated environment, while ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and a positive, teammate experience. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to communicate complex information consistently, clearly, professionally, and empathetically. Position has in office expectations and is not remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in specific discipline.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential, non-public or otherwise restricted information with integrity.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner effectively with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
  • The ability to interact in a consultative manner with internal and external candidates, hiring managers, HR professionals, legal and vendors.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening and both written and verbal; experience communicating frequently with HR leadership and HR partners.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Project Management understanding, experience and ability to manage projects with minimal direction

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of high‑volume U.S. employment‑based immigration processes, including H‑1B, TN, E‑3, and related categories, along with Permanent Residence. Serve as the primary point of contact for immigration‑related inquiries, case progression, and stakeholder guidance within required timeframes.
  • Partner closely with HR, Talent, managers, and immigration counsel on case strategy, risk mitigation, and escalations. Proactively communicate case status, processing timelines, and potential impacts to start dates or continued employment. Provide clear, consistent guidance on eligibility, documentation requirements, and status implications, based on counsel direction and internal policy.
  • Track timelines, expirations, extensions, and amendments to ensure compliance and continuity of employment. Manage immigration inquiries through resolution, providing guidance and escalating issues as appropriate, with a focus on the teammate experience.
  • Support complex Form I‑9 and E‑Verify processes, ensuring accurate documentation of work authorization. Support Labor Condition Application compliance processes, record‑keeping requirements, audits, and RFE responses.
  • Establish and ensure proper procedures and controls are in place, including compliance to regulations and laws to protect both our teammates and Truist from any unnecessary risk. All policies and procedures that support an area of discipline should include optimal training and process-level documentation that support the compliance risk governance framework.
  • Lead moderate and visible projects with notable risk and complexity. Provide guidance to HR partners and Truist leaders regarding the employment policy for each area of disciple. Support the onboarding of teammates through talent acquisition and/or merger/acquisitions by supporting the targeted strategies to support business needs.
  • Respond to changing priorities to meet deadlines, demonstrate sound judgment when responding to requests for data and/or sharing of data and handling confidential, non-public or otherwise restricted information with integrity.
  • Manage record retention process mandated by the organization and other regulatory agencies.
