About The Position

Ford is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Extended Reality (XR) Engineer to join our innovative team, supporting cutting-edge vehicle development. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in building and updating Extended Reality (XR) models, collaborating closely with engineers, suppliers, CAD teams, production, service, and attribute leaders. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our vehicle programs by enabling immersive reviews and supporting critical milestone signoffs. As an Extended Reality (XR) Engineer, you will be assigned to a specific vehicle model, working on it from program start through to FDJ. You will serve as a key liaison, working directly with internal customers to address craftsmanship and vehicle architecture needs. This includes incorporating proposal parts into existing data, executing DVA moves, and facilitating general vehicle reviews within an immersive environment. You will be responsible for both building XR-ready models and conducting XR reviews in the lab as needed. Furthermore, you will engage with new customers to understand their evolving needs and collaborate with our development team to integrate these requirements into our lab capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with engineers, suppliers, CAD, production, service, and attribute leaders.
  • 1+ years working with Teamcenter and/or 3DX.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the Extended Reality (XR) field.
  • Working capability in Autodesk VRED.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Vehicle Design & Release experience and knowledge of the product development process.
  • Strong problem-solving and data management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Build and update XR models to support immersive reviews throughout the vehicle development process.
  • Enable milestone sign-off using XR reviews.
  • Support vehicle programs from program start to FDJ.
  • Work with customers to support craftsmanship and vehicle architecture customer needs.
  • Incorporate proposal parts into existing data within the XR environment.
  • Execute DVA moves and facilitate general vehicle reviews.
  • Hold XR reviews in the lab as needed, ensuring a seamless immersive experience.
  • Collaborate with new customers to understand their specific needs regarding immersive tools and processes.
  • Work with the development team to integrate new customer needs and functionalities into the lab environment.
