About The Position

The Imaging Technologist I is responsible for performing radiographic procedures, ionizing radiation to render optimum images, which are used to support diagnoses and provide insight into medical issues, concerns or conditions. This position conducts preliminary analysis on images and collaborates with doctors and other Healthcare professionals to interpret images. This position assists with training students and technologists and performs injection procedures. The Imaging Technologist I is required to be qualified to care for infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they understand procedures and are comfortable during procedures. This position will primarily support the OR using portable XR, C-arm, O-arm. Will also be responsible for completing Fluoroscopy to include Arthrograms and joint injections.

Requirements

  • Radiology Certificate required
  • Indiana Radiology License required
  • ARRT-R required within 1 year of hire
  • Surgery experience with C-arm, O-arm, Fluoro (arthrograms and aspirations), and portables required

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures, using ionizing radiation to render optimum images for diagnosis.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis on images and collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret images.
  • Assist with training students and technologists.
  • Perform injection procedures.
  • Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history to guide diagnostic procedures.
  • Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients and answer questions.
  • Ensure patients are not exposed to excessive amounts of radiation.
  • Position the patient and equipment correctly for optimal image quality.
  • Operate imaging machines properly to produce clear imaging results.
  • Observe equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Adjust machine settings for proper voltage and radiation levels.
  • Take X-rays of patient's tissue, organs, and bones to evaluate for injury or illness.
  • Write detailed reports about patient behavior or machine malfunctions.
  • Clean, maintain, and restock inventory in examination rooms.
  • Collaborate with physicians on patient medical issues to determine protocol and procedure.
  • Assist with ACR, HFAP, ISBOH, IDPH, and IEMA.
