About The Position

This is an open-pooled position where applicants' education/experience will be considered, and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level, as appropriate. The Multi-modality Technologist provides quality imaging and patient care within two (2) medical imaging modalities in any combination. Performs imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a clinic or hospital setting as requested by the ordering physician or other licensed provider. The technologist will meet all of the qualifications and requirements for the modalities in which they are certified and will work a minimum of 40% of the time in the second modality. The position may require flex shifts and support at different UTMB Campuses.

Requirements

  • Imaging Technologist I: Associates of Applied Science OR Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
  • Imaging Technologist I: Enrolled in or have completed second Imaging Modality program
  • Imaging Technologist I: Certification from one of the following credentialing organizations: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - (ARRT)(R), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RVT-VT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Imaging Technologist I: Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable.
  • Imaging Technologist I: Registry in a second modality must be completed within 18 months of hire or transfer date.
  • Imaging Technologist I: American Heart Association BLS.
  • Imaging Technologist II: High School Diploma or GED
  • Imaging Technologist II: Three (3) Years’ Experience in the Primary Imaging Modality
  • Imaging Technologist II: One (1) Year Experience in the Secondary Imaging Modality
  • Imaging Technologist II: Two (2) Certifications from one or more of the following credentialing organizations: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Vascular Technologist (RVT-VT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • Imaging Technologist II: Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable.
  • Imaging Technologist II: American Heart Association BLS.

Nice To Haves

  • Imaging Technologist I: Associate's Degree - Strongly Preferred
  • Imaging Technologist I: Three - six months experience in the Secondary Imaging Modality
  • Imaging Technologist I: Experience and/or Registry in Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Imaging Technologist II: Associate's Degree - Strongly Preferred
  • Imaging Technologist II: Experience and/or Registry in Computed Tomography (CT)
