About The Position

Perform CT exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care. This position is a full time position at The Urgency Room in Eagan. Monday-Friday 7:30-3:00. The technologist will perform CT exams and assist physicians in invasive procedures in a timely manner, demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness within department time standards for routine exams. They will obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide patients with information about the exam/procedure to ensure comfort and understanding. The role involves working with radiologists, referring clinics, and/or patients to ensure appropriate exams, films, and medical records are correct and prepared. Accurate and complete paperwork for the radiologist, referring clinic, and patient records is essential. The position also requires incorporating company values into daily interactions and may include training new employees, stocking/ordering department supplies, and assisting in other departments.

Requirements

  • RT (R) (CT) required within one year of employment
  • CPR certification required.
  • Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods and techniques required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
  • Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Competent in using a computer keyboard, email, Imagecast and PACS or similar applications.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-6 months general x-ray experience preferred.
  • 6-12 months CT experience preferred.
  • IV and power contrast injector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it.
  • Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient’s medical records.
  • Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments.
