About The Position

The Iowa River Landing Clinic is seeking an 80-100% Imaging Technologist to provide instruction in specialized diagnostic radiography procedures using advanced CT imaging equipment and perform general radiography procedures. This role involves performing and teaching specialized diagnostic and research imaging and spectroscopic procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during the exam. The technologist will operate radiography equipment with minimal physician supervision, prepare and administer contrast material under radiologist supervision, and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public. The position also requires establishing rapport with patients, providing information about procedures, and utilizing standard safety precautions.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is required.
  • Current Permit to practice in the State of Iowa for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation-emitting equipment is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Recent work or clinical education experience in CT or Mammography.
  • CT modality training.
  • CT or Mammography certification or eligible.
  • Experience and/or certification in other modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and teach specialized diagnostic and research imaging and spectroscopic procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.
  • Perform radiography procedures using a variety of imaging equipment with close patient monitoring.
  • Provide instruction to trainees, medical staff, and students on operational safety precautions.
  • Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
  • Utilize standard safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risk to patients, personnel, and equipment.
  • Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under radiologist’s supervision as required.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
