This role is located onsite in Birmingham, AL Position Summary: Responsible for a variety of duties including opening, sorting, and batching paper claims as well as managing mail and USPS/FedEx postings.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Post Office box on a daily basis by picking up buckets of mail ranging from 30-50 pounds and transporting them to the office for processing.
  • Open, sort, and batch paper claims by flattening and using separators as well as indexing and researching unidentifiable mail pieces.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Date stamp mail upon receipt and promptly sort and distribute.
  • Scan all mail to computer files and claims system.
  • Load mail into filing cabinets for record keeping while also unloading mail for shredding purposes to maintain record keeping guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate stock and inventory of all mailroom supplies and notifies Team Leader when new supplies should be reordered.
  • Maintains confidentiality for HIPAA purposes.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
