About The Position

This role is within the Perioperative Care department at Ascension St John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. The position is full-time with an evening shift schedule. The Imaging Services Assistant will support technologists in preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them and taking radiologic films. The goal is to provide quality images to physicians for diagnosis and to offer support to the imaging department. Responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, providing educational materials, transporting patients, verifying patient identity, and adhering to radiation safety protocols. The assistant will also help with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation as needed, and perform post-procedural duties such as patient discharge, room cleanup, restocking supplies, and assisting with inventory control.

Requirements

BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods act as transport tech.

Nice To Haves

CNA experience preferred but No PCT skills used.

Responsibilities

Assist technologists with preparing patient for radiology exam by positioning the patient for the procedure and take radiologic film providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems and provide support for the imaging department.
Explain procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Provides appropriate educational material.
Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures and follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Assist technologists with picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation on an as needed basis.
Perform post procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies and assists with inventory control.
