About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute and become part of one of the world’s most respected healthcare organizations. We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. Cleveland Clinic’s Imaging team is continuously working to provide patients with the most up-to-date technological advances and innovative treatment options in diagnostic imaging. As an Imaging RN you will provide professional nursing care to patients receiving diagnostic or therapeutic services including Interventional Radiology, CT/MRI and vascular access, while working closely with physicians, nurses, and other staff to offer exceptional support and attention to all patients within the unit. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, offering a wealth of applicable nursing knowledge. While critical care experience is a strong asset, candidates with solid medical-surgical backgrounds and strong critical thinking skills are also well-suited for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of recent experience as an RN
  • If in an ED, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department

Nice To Haves

  • BSN
  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • In areas operating with Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC Lines), Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) certification is preferred within three years of hire
  • For Cardiac Catheterization or other related procedural areas, one year of critical care experience in a hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate, and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
  • Maintain core competencies in nursing, including CPR and skills labs.
