The Imaging Nurse in Imaging Services has a dynamic and varied role. The primary goal of the Imaging Nurse is to provide quality nursing care to the patient while in the Department of Imaging, contributing to the efficient operation of the department, promoting Hamilton Medical Center's philosophy, to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. The Imaging Nurse will also routinely attend the Nurse Practice Council and other appropriate meetings to stay abreast of nursing practices and standards. The Imaging Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Nurse must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and assess data reflective of the patient’s current status particularly focusing on the adult, geriatric and pediatric patient. Performs all responsibilities as licensed and trained to ensure the quality of patient care. Practices proper sterile technique. Knowledge to maintain databases in the Imaging PACS systems. Schedules Inpatient and Outpatient procedures. Ensures global patient care before, during, and after procedures. Position is exposed to Radiation.
