Under the direction and supervision of a technologist, assists in performing imaging examinations. As part of the imaging program, this internship is designed to expose students to direct practice in the field of imaging while completing a required accredited Ultrasound Technology program. Participates in and contributes to department projects to receive introductory work experience related to imaging activities.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in senior status in an accredited school of ultrasound technology
  • Basic computer skills to operate a computer efficiently and effectively.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to understand detailed instructions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
  • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Sonography program entering into senior year.
