About The Position

Responsible for the daily support, maintenance, monitoring, and coordination of imaging informatics systems to ensure reliable system operations. Maintains a thorough understanding of imaging workflows and relationships between ancillary systems and PACS, RIS, CVIS, VNA, Powerscribe, and related applications. Serves as a liaison between Medical Imaging, Cardiology, Information Technology, clinical departments, physician practices, and vendors. Responsibilities include user support, troubleshooting, data integrity, quality assurance activities, training support, system maintenance, and participation in downtime and disaster recovery planning.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Healthcare, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Medical Imaging, Cardiovascular Services, Healthcare Information Technology, or related healthcare environment.
  • Obtain Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) certification within twenty-four (24) months of start date.
  • Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Supports daily operation of imaging informatics systems including PACS, RIS, CVIS, VNA, Powerscribe, image exchange, and related applications.
  • Provides first-line support for imaging system users including technologists, physicians, clinical staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors image routing, interface activity, report distribution, system performance, and workflow processes to ensure timely availability of imaging studies and reports.
  • Verifies and maintains data integrity, ensuring proper communication between imaging systems, ancillary applications, and electronic medical records.
  • Troubleshoots routine imaging informatics issues and coordinates resolution with Information Technology teams, vendors, and departmental leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintains DICOM compatibility, modality connectivity, worklists, system configurations, and user access within established standards.
  • Assists with testing, validation, implementation, upgrades, downtimes, disaster recovery exercises, and system maintenance activities.
  • Provides end-user training and support for imaging informatics applications and workflow processes.
  • Maintains system documentation, support records, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance activities.
  • Participates in workflow improvement projects, departmental performance improvement initiatives, and imaging informatics optimization efforts.
  • Participates in an imaging informatics escalation rotation to support critical system outages, major workflow interruptions, disaster recovery events, and other high-impact issues requiring advanced technical intervention.
  • Participates in an imaging informatics escalation rotation for critical system outages and downtime events.
