About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Advanced Imaging Assistant supports and assists the Technologist as needed, following the established policies and procedures within the Imaging environment. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of duties as assigned by the Imaging department. The ideal candidate must possess good interpersonal and communication skills and consistently follow the Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant experience
• 2 years’ patient care experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (Upon Hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross (Upon Hire)

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, including changing patients and reviewing patient safety questionnaires.
• Assist the modality Technologist in setting up scan rooms, placing patients on the table, and attaching necessary coils and/or head holders.
• Assist with starting IVs on patients receiving contrast injections.
• Assist in emergency situations such as contrast reactions and CPRs.
• Verify patient lab values, document patient exam information, and create CDs for patients.
• Participate in patient final verification.
• Assist with supply ordering, putting away stock, and monitoring stock for expired products.
• Assist with linen supply, stocking blanket warmers, and disposing of soiled linen and carts.
• Clean scan rooms and holding rooms in between patients.
• Assist with the transportation of patients to and from the scan room.
