The Imaging Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting patient care and operational efficiency within the imaging center. Primary functions include patient transport, general and equipment cleaning, gathering and preparing specialized equipment, specimen transport, room turnover, and performing shave preps. The assistant will also provide patient care support, such as positioning and prepping, under the direction of an RN, MD, or Tech. This role involves preparing for upcoming procedures by setting up trays and supplies, and maintaining inventory for various modalities. The Imaging Assistant acts as a central point of communication, facilitates patient flow, assists with patient transfers, and provides support to patients awaiting their procedures. Additionally, this role may involve ongoing telephone communication between departments, assisting with prioritizing daily patient schedules, coordinating within the procedure room, and retrieving lab results. Support may be provided to all hospital-based Imaging departments and campus adjacent imaging centers as needed.
