About The Position

With offices across North Carolina, the Imaging Assistant promptly and safely transports patients to and from the Radiology Department according to established policies, procedures, and time schedules. Performs patient screenings prior to the study and assists clinical staff members upon request.

Requirements

Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
Current CPR certification
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Minimum one year of customer service experience in medical office setting, or other fast paced work setting

Responsibilities

Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting room and/or exam room to the Radiology department
Prepares patients for study by dressing patient according to safety protocols
Completes screening process on all patients prior to study
Ensures laboratory results are received as indicated by study requirements
Ensures all studies scheduled have correct orders and insurance authorizations on file prior to patient arrival and transmits to third party radiology group
Utilize imaging software to transmit images to third party radiology group for purposes of study interpretation
Takes stock inventory and completes ordering as directed by Clinical Manager
Communicates with outside facilities and third-party participants to request and/or maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance
Maintains compliance with Infection Control guidelines
Complies with all OSHA mandates
Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
