About The Position

The Imaging Services Assistant will greet and welcome patients and other staff to the Imaging Department. They will check patients in, answer phone inquiries from patients and hospital personnel, and schedule Imaging exams. This position will also be responsible for preparing CDs/DVDs and pushing images electronically to other facilities, assisting physicians in locating patient images, loading images into PACs and maintaining orderliness of the reception area of Imaging Services Department at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, remaining HIPPA compliant at all times. The Position: PRN, work as needed.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current participation in radiology classes and clinical rotations.
• No experience is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must have knowledge of basic radiology procedures and have documented competency validation on all applicable modalities from the educational program and advanced knowledge of radiation safety standards.
• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider) prior to employment and continue to maintain current certification in BLS.
• Complete Mandatory Reporting requirement within 90 days of hire.
• Renew Mandatory Reporting requirements every 5 years.

• Per Diem (PRN). Must be flexible for the staffing of all shifts, weekends, holidays, and call duties.
