About The Position

This position provides advanced technical, clinical and clerical support within the Imaging department. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, conducting patient screening, assisting patients during procedures, maintaining supplies, and supporting technologists as needed. This role also includes remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.

Requirements

  • Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program.
  • LPN – High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program.
  • 2nd Year Rad Tech Student – High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN
  • Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation
  • EMT Certification
  • LPN license
  • 2nd year Rad Tech
  • BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Transports Patient
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
  • Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)
  • Educate patients about the procedure and address questions
  • Communicate readiness to remote technologist
  • Monitor telemetry patients during exam
  • Position the patient correctly on the scanner table
  • Prepare positioning aids
  • Loads contrast injector
  • Place and manage IV lines
  • Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision
  • Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed
  • Initiate BLS protocols if required
  • Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol
  • Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan
  • Complete Exam Data Entry
