About The Position

The Imaging Assistant II assists technologists in coordinating and maintaining a safe and efficient patient flow for diagnostic imaging departments. This role provides professional, empathetic, and compassionate care to patients and their loved ones. Responsibilities include greeting patients and families, assisting with dressing/undressing, transporting patients, and attending to patient comfort needs. The position also emphasizes promoting team member and patient safety, maintaining a safe environment, and adhering to infection prevention guidelines. The Imaging Assistant II will partner with imaging departments and inpatient units to ensure efficient patient flow, stock supplies, manage outdated inventory, perform safety audits, and assist with inquiries from various stakeholders to facilitate timely access to services.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional, empathetic, and compassionate care to patients and their loved ones.
  • Greets patients and their families, assists patients with dressing/undressing, transports or ambulates patients, and assists patients with comfort needs.
  • Promotes team member and patient safety in all activities and to all patient types to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
  • Shows competency in intravenous access in accordance with established protocols while using aseptic technique.
  • Assists in verifying orders, completing questionnaires, providing patient instructions, and recording pertinent information.
  • Completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy and procedure.
  • Prepares, maintains, and cleans equipment, such as wheelchairs, carts, oxygen tanks, imaging equipment, and exam rooms, and follows infection prevention guidelines to ensure a safe environment for team members and patients.
  • Partners with all imaging departments and inpatient units to assist in a safe and efficient patient flow.
  • Completes department tasks, such as stocking supplies, checking outdated supplies, performing safety audits and tracking, and cleaning rooms and equipment to remain compliant with requirements, regulations, and policies.
  • Assists in answering inquiries from clinicians, office staff, scheduling, registration, patients, families, etc., to allow for timely access to services.
