About The Position

The Imaging Aide is accountable to the Assistant Manager of Radiology and the Manager. This role is responsible for assisting the MRI radiologic technologist during MRI exams. The Imaging Aide will serve as a valued member of the Radiology Team, assisting the MRI technologists. The staff member will help schedule patients and will assist in maximizing table time by allowing for efficient and safe room turn-around for the next patient, including getting patients on/off the MRI table and setting up coils. The Imaging Aide will help with transport when needed, and visit patient floors for tasks such as delivering MRI safe IV pumps. The Imaging Aide will help update families on the status of their child during exams, especially with scans involving anesthesia. The role also involves sanitizing equipment and maintaining in-room supplies. This position requires a talented multitasker who can thrive in a quick and efficient, fast-paced MRI department. Skilled communication is essential for interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Good computer skills are needed to utilize the Radiology Information System.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification upon hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Competency in caring for patients treated at Connecticut Children’s regardless of age, disability, gender and ethnicity.
  • Knowledge and skills to efficiently operate CR, RIS, PACS, and CD burner.
  • Good computer skills to be able to utilize the current Radiology Information System.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum six months previous pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities
