About The Position

GRVTY is seeking a motivated and experienced imagery scientist to serve as the lead Electro-Optical subject matter expert (SME) on our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is an expert imagery scientist with a passion for advanced scientific problem solving, imagery exploitation, and operational intelligence support. This role will drive solutions informed by specific phenomenology limitations and advantages of the sensors and platforms in mind.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain a CI/Poly
  • 4+ years of expert EO imagery exploitation and imagery science experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in EO collection systems, remote sensing phenomenology, image formation processes, and exploitation products and methodologies
  • Experience exploiting EO imagery to detect, identify, and locate objects of interest
  • Experience developing and evaluating algorithms, scientific workflows, and exploitation methodologies
  • Hands-on experience using Python, MATLAB, Google Earth Engine, and EO imagery processing tools
  • Experience automating scientific processing workflows
  • Experience developing and evaluating algorithms, automated workflows, and scientific exploitation methods
  • Deep understanding of remote sensing principles, EO imagery processing, advanced exploitation methods, and sensor/platform limitations and advantages
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to technical audiences, non-technical stakeholders, and intelligence users

  • Experience applying CV and machine learning (ML) techniques to EO imagery and data to address intelligence problems

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead technical authority for EO exploitation and imagery science initiatives.
  • Analyze EO collection capabilities, sensor phenomenology, and image formation processes.
  • Exploit imagery to identify and locate objects of interest across intelligence scenarios.
  • Develop, test, and evaluate new algorithms, exploitation methodologies, scientific workflows, and automated processing techniques.
  • Utilize advanced processing tools including Python, MATLAB, and Google Earth Engine.
  • Support automation of EO scientific processing and analysis workflow.
  • Assess emerging EO sensor characteristics and capabilities and evaluate impacts to metadata structures, data formats, APIs and ETL processes, and existing operational pipelines.
  • Develop strategies to pre-process EO imagery, normalize and standardize datasets, convert formats and tile imagery, and prepare imagery for labeling, model testing, and advanced exploitation workflows.
  • Investigate gaps in emerging EO sensor capabilities.
  • Collaborate with SAR Imagery Scientists to identify coincident imagery opportunities and align EO imagery with temporal and geographic collection windows.
  • Support multi-INT exploitation workflows.
