About The Position

Aetos Systems, Inc. is seeking an Imagery Systems Engineer to join their team at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This role involves researching, designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the installation of electrical communication systems, with a specific focus on mission imagery systems (both photo and video). Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science plus 5 years’ experience, OR a Master’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and three (3) years of Engineering Experience.
  • Strong understanding of Engineering principles and technologies.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and computer administration.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass an initial and random drug testing.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Researching, designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the installation of electrical communication systems, including mission imagery systems.
  • Working with customers to develop system requirements.
  • Defining the configuration of various imagery components such as Baseband, Infrared, High Speed Digital and IP camera systems, camera pan/tilt and tracking components, timecode inserters, video encoders and decoders, media converters, video routing systems, imagery recorders, and display units.
  • Collaborating with Cable and Transmission team members to design and implement imaging systems for flight hardware processing facilities, Launch Control Center, and various field locations.
  • Researching and defining “Off the Shelf” solutions to support system development.
  • Working with Manufacturers to configure products that meet system requirements.
  • Developing material and labor estimates for projects.
  • Ordering materials and components that meet system specifications.
  • Following through with Manufacturers and Suppliers to meet project deadlines.
  • Working with Drafting team members to develop and maintain detailed system drawings.
  • Developing component and system Acceptance Test Procedures, Functional Test Procedures, and Operational Instructions.
  • Overseeing the execution of test procedures and supporting day-to-day and major operations.
  • Providing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
