About The Position

The ILS Obsolescence Engineer will manage and maintain Obsolescence risk levels of COTS equipment, produce Logistics Support Analyses, and develop ILS plans to meet program needs. This role involves life-cycle planning for in-service programs, performing reliability calculations, and managing the obsolescence of COTS components, including Last Time Buy (LTB) and End of Life (EOL) information. The engineer will also liaise with OEMs, evaluate substitutes for obsolete parts, perform Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), and generate ILS deliverables from vendor data.

Requirements

  • University degree in Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or any other related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in naval or aerospace ILS and Obsolescence field
  • Experience in performing Obsolescence Management activities (IEC 62402)
  • Experience in performing various Logistics Engineering Analyses (LSAR, LORA, PHST, LCCA, Recommended Spare Parts Analysis, etc.)
  • Experience in performing various Reliability/Maintenance Engineering Analyses (RAM, FMECA, MTA, RCM, MIL-STD-217, FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis), RBD (Reliability Block Diagrams)
  • Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Excellent technical, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Must be meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Bilingual (French and English), proficient English writing skills
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Omega PS/ GenS (or similar LSAR database) and Omega PS Analyzer (or similar LORA, LCC, spares modelling) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Obsolescence risk levels of COTS equipment
  • Produce Logistics Support Analyses; sparing, initial provisioning, end of life extension analysis
  • Development of ILS plan to meet the program needs
  • Development of life-cycle planning in support of in-service programs
  • Performing component and system-level reliability calculations
  • Manage the Obsolescence of COTS components including Last Time Buy (LTB) and End of Life (EOL) information and provide recommendations supporting replacement decisions
  • Liaise with OEMs and develop corrective actions for obsolescence issues
  • Evaluate Fit, Form & Function (FFF) substitute(s) or design changes when a part is determined obsolete
  • Perform Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) for replacement components
  • Generate ILS deliverables from vendor data (FMECA, LSAR, LORA, RBD, Spares Analysis, Technical Manuals, Disposal Plan, Hazardous Materials Analysis, etc.)
