About The Position

Join our growing team as Illustrator and Content Designer! In this position, you will play a critical creative role in shaping the visual identity of belairdirect’s organic social media presence. Working collaboratively with the social media and brand teams, you will develop character-driven illustrated assets that bring our brand to life across platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. You’re the perfect fit if you have a strong love of storytelling, a deep understanding of social media best practices, and a desire to push creative boundaries. You’ll lead the development of a distinctive illustrated look and feel that resonates with audiences and helps grow brand love online.

Requirements

• Strong illustration skills, particularly in character design, storytelling, and environment/background design.
• Experience preparing illustration assets for animation (animation experience is an asset but not required).
• 5–7 years of experience in art direction, illustration, graphic design, or creative roles (agency experience is an asset).
• Strong knowledge of social media formats, trends, and best practices, particularly for Instagram and TikTok.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and digital illustration tools.
• Strong concept development skills with the ability to take ideas from initial concept through execution.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams.
• Creative leadership, curiosity, and a passion for storytelling through visual design.
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
• No Canadian work experience required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the illustrated look and feel for belairdirect’s social media channels, including Instagram and TikTok.
• Create engaging illustrations and visual storytelling assets that support social-first content strategies.
• Design original characters, backgrounds, and illustrated environments that can be used across social media.
• Collaborate closely with the social media team to brainstorm and develop creative concepts.
• Translate social media trends and insights into visually compelling illustrated content.
• Prepare and organize illustration files for animation and motion use when required.
• Ensure narrative consistency across all illustrated assets while exploring new creative approaches for the brand.
• Contribute to the overall creative direction of belairdirect’s social presence and help elevate brand storytelling.
