About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is offering an EMT Class designed to prepare students for the National Registry Exam and obtain their state EMT license. This program is an in-person, 280-hour course spread over 16-18 weeks, with classes held two weekdays per week from 9 am to 5 pm. Topics covered include airway management, cardiac emergencies, pharmacology, pediatrics, trauma, and obstetrics. Upon successful completion, students will have the opportunity for full-time employment with Superior Ambulance Service. Selected students attend the class at no cost, provided they complete the class and a subsequent 15-month full-time employment commitment. Failure to meet these requirements will result in billing for the cost of the class.

Requirements

  • A valid unrestricted driver's license with 1 year of driving experience, satisfactory driving record, and ability to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime and inclement weather.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to work for Superior Ambulance Service for a continuous 15-months on a full-time templated schedule after the completion of class.

Responsibilities

  • Complete attendance to all class sessions and scheduled ride time shifts is mandatory.
  • Students are responsible for obtaining their own reliable form of transportation.
  • Class is 16 hours a week with 10-15 hours spent outside of class studying, working on homework, ride time, etc.
  • Students are responsible for ensuring their attendance and being able to fully commit to class.
  • Class contains instructor assigned homework assignments that are completed online.
  • Students are responsible for providing their own means of technology.
