About The Position

The Ridge School seeks to hire an IEP and Student Services Administrator who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. The Ridge School of Montgomery County is a special education day school for students in grades 6 through 12 with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and other behavioral health impairments. We provide educational, clinical, and behavioral services to students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience
  • MSDE certification required or must be eligible for MSDE certification

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree preferred in special education or education

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the IEP process, ensuring full compliance with COMAR, IDEA, and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) regulations.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings with families, school staff, related service providers, and Local Education Agencies (LEA)
  • Monitor the implementation of IEP goals, services, accommodations, and behavioral supports in alignment with each student’s needs.
  • Maintain all IEP documentation and timelines using the appropriate special education data systems (e.g., Maryland Online IEP system and Special Programs).
  • Provide ongoing training and support to teachers and staff on IEP procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Serve as the School Test Coordinator for all MSDE and statewide assessments, ensuring test security and compliance with all state assessment protocols, including accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Lead the development of comprehensive transition plans for students age 14 and older, in compliance with IDEA and MSDE requirements and maintain accurate and up-to-date transition documentation within IEPs.
  • Coordinate career exploration, work-based learning experiences, and life skills programming to prepare students for post-secondary success and facilitate connections with families, outside agencies, vocational programs, and community resources to support student transition outcomes.
