AFS is seeking an IE Indo-Pacific Media Analyst to provide specialized analysis of key Asia media ecosystems, propaganda mechanisms, narrative development, and information flow across the theater.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years experience in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Philippine media analysis, strategic communication, or Asia regional geopolitics.
Experience conducting media or propaganda analysis.
Ability to leverage a mix of human and machine‑assisted research.

Nice To Haves

Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean language proficiency (written/oral)
Proficiency in other Asia-Pacific languages (written/oral)
Active TS preferred

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor Asia-based media outlets, to include Chinese state and affiliate media outlets.
Conduct deep‑dive narrative analysis focused on China’s messaging, propaganda themes, and influence campaigns related to US national security interests.
Track emerging information and media trends across the Indo‑Pacific AOI.
Identify indicators of coordinated influence activities and messaging shifts.
Produce high‑quality written intelligence products and contribute to command briefings.
