About The Position

The IDEA District Support Teacher provides districtwide educational support to students with disabilities, school teams, and families to improve educational outcomes and ensure implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs). The position serves as a district resource and collaborates with schools to provide consultation, direct student services, coaching, training, and technical assistance related to special education programming and evidence-based practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire.
Enrollment in a Program to continue employment if hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program.
Satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements each year of employment if hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program.
Ensure the enrolled program is aligned with the teaching line hired in.

Nice To Haves

Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting.

Responsibilities

Provide districtwide educational support to students with disabilities, school teams, and families.
