About The Position

The IDD Residential Director is a position with shared responsibility of 24/7 comprehensive oversight of 30 IRAs and a $30 million budget. Each IDD Residential Director is responsible for the overall operations, compliance, quality and financial management of their assigned IRAs. The IDD Residential Director under the supervision of Director will be responsible to implement and oversee a diverse community integration and support services for people with varying degrees of developmental disabilities, complex medical needs and co-occurring disorders. The IDD Residential Director will ensure a highly trained team of front line supervisors, direct support professionals of varying levels to meet the support and service needs of the individuals. The IDD Residential Director partners with an interdisciplinary team, which includes individuals supported, families, front line supervisors, behavior clinicians, nurses, care coordinators, counselors, therapists and others as appropriate. The IDD Residential Director promotes expertise in providing a broad range of community support, community living, and coordination of supports, as well as behavioral health care designed to meet the needs of adults with both developmental disabilities and co-occurring disorders.

Requirements

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, as well as, organizational and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Proficient in organizing and management of competing priorities and organizational Key Performance Indicators.
  • Deep knowledge of OPWDD and OFPC regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage risk while maintaining accountability to Director.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, electronic health record, and virtual communication platforms.
  • Must maintain current license/certification/training
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, work eligibility status and have an excellent driving record
  • A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation or a related field with a minimum of five years of related and progressively responsible leadership and supervisory experience in a similar industry or field.
  • Experience supporting individuals with Autism and complex behavioral challenges and familiar with ABA and PECS.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes person centered practice and respect for each individual’s life choices and individuality, facilitating quality outcomes for the people supported and the community.
  • Leads the development of skill and attainment of knowledge to facilitate quality service delivery, developing a strong, dynamic customer satisfaction focused and innovative work force.
  • Participates in designing and implementation of a comprehensive DSP Training Curriculum that is effective and creates a culture of support and partnership with individuals and families.
  • Trains, implements and assures adherence to Core Competencies and Council on Quality Leadership (CQL) guiding principles.
  • Participates in the Corporate Planning process and is committed to the delivery of organizational Key Performance Indicators
  • Ensures compliance and quality in service delivery that meets or exceeds federal, state and professional standards.
  • Maintains all licenses and certifications required for the operation of IDD residential services and training certifications.
  • Partners with Quality Assurance on utilization review, and utilization management for IDD Residential Services to ensure level of care criteria are met and service delivery is appropriate for the needs of recipients and requirement of all payers.
  • Partners with senior leadership and finance on development, implementation and management for multiple cost centers.
  • Maximize revenue and control expenses to ensure fiscal viability.
  • Provides on call coverage as assigned.
  • Fulfill duties as assigned by the senior and executive leadership.
  • Supervises directly DSP Supervisors, indirectly DSPs and interdisciplinary team as appropriate.
