The ICWA Social Worker provides community-based support services to Tribal members. Services are strength-based, person-centered, and culturally and trauma-informed. Responsibilities entail crisis stabilization and direct community-based services to Tribal members, including but not limited to case management, coordination of our educational advocacy project, development of preventative services, facilitation of groups and community activities, collaboration and linkages to community resources and agencies, and maintenance of case records and progress notes. The ICWA Social Worker assigned primarily to ICWA cases is responsible for ongoing support and advocacy for Bear River families involved in the Child Welfare System.
