About The Position

Infineon Technologies Americas Corp. is seeking an ICW PL Finance Manager to perform financial analysis, investment modeling, and guide business decisions for all financial outcomes for the Industrial MCU portfolio of the Micro Controller Units (MCU) Product Line. This role involves building statistical models for product costs, consolidating and analyzing new product proposals with financial plans, and developing target cost structures. The manager will engage with various teams to drive cost improvements, forecast target costs, and create cost tracking dashboards. They will also ensure accurate Average Selling Prices (ASPs) and develop forward-looking analytics for revenue and demand planning. The position includes performing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, optimizing R&D efficiency, ensuring proper accounting treatment, and delivering strategic financial consultation. The role also involves leading revenue and demand planning efforts through market research. Up to 10% domestic travel and up to 10% international travel required. Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis, investment modeling, and guide business decisions for all financial outcomes for the Industrial MCU portfolio of the Micro Controller Units (MCU) Product Line.
  • Build statistical models to estimate frontend and backend costs for products developed on various technical nodes and assembled on different packages, with varying test conditions and sort yields.
  • Consolidate and analyze new product proposals by generating a comprehensive financial plan with profitability metrics, underpinned revenue, costs, investments, and ROI, and ensure PL investments are set appropriately to the roadmap and financial outlook.
  • Build customized target cost structures on various semiconductor technologies, using SQL queries to rank, group, and create views on specific ordering criteria such as silicon foundries, OSAT assembly packages, and test programs.
  • Engage with PL Management, Procurement and R&D teams to drive wafer cost improvements based on IP stack, chip sizes, memory, security, and peripheral layers.
  • Forecast target cost and validate the consistency of deviation/idle/one off costs and create a cost tracking dashboard which highlights statistically probable cost increases to develop mitigation/negotiation strategies.
  • Ensure Average Selling Prices (ASPs) are set accurately at the product level given market conditions, and validate pricing based on consistency with DWIN trends and product families.
  • Develop forward-looking analytics for revenue and demand planning including POS/ POP velocity, weeks of channel inventory, owned inventory, backlog, bookings, and Ship & Debit accruals.
  • Build mathematical models to run price, volume, and mix analytics for improving profitability through ASP opportunities, redirecting product mix to high-margin accounts, and capacity agreements to secure baseline volumes.
  • Perform all budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities for the PL including 5-year strategic plan and quarterly forecast for Revenue, Gross Margin, Spending, and Investment.
  • Optimize R&D efficiency by conducting feasibility studies on fab transfers, joint development opportunities, scoping out compatible tech bases for derivative projects / modules, and ensuring product hierarchy alignment to the roadmap.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment of R&D capitalization, license amortization, 3rd party IP usage, and inventory management including reserves.
  • Deliver strategic consultation to PL management on financial issues including scenario analysis to support quarterly risk assessment for the Business Line (BL) based on known risks, opportunities, and market trends.
  • Set and distribute margin targets to be used in business cases, making the go/no‐go decision for all Industrial MCU products, and highlight potential outcomes, challenges, and investment alternatives to the Leadership team.
  • Lead and organize the revenue and demand planning efforts through market research on the Semiconductor industry, Industrial MCU product lifecycles, competitiveness, and key corporate accounts.
