About The Position
Wake Veterinary Medical Center in Raleigh is seeking an ICU Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join their team. Wake Vet is a 24-hour hybrid hospital offering primary care, emergency, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, advanced imaging (ultrasound and 64-slice CT), and cardiology services. The facility has recently expanded, adding dedicated special procedures and chemotherapy rooms, and enhancing diagnostic capabilities. The hospital is known for its exceptional ICU care, provided by a stable and experienced team of credentialed technicians and assistants. The location in Knightdale, NC, offers an easy commute from the Research Triangle area and proximity to Raleigh's amenities.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of ICU procedures.
- Strong understanding of patient handling.
- Strong understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated care and empathy for canine and feline patients.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a veterinary ICU or critical care setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide ICU care to veterinary patients.
- Handle patients with care and empathy.
- Interact with the veterinary team and pet owners professionally and compassionately.
