About The Position

Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital is seeking an overnight ICU Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join their team. The hospital is the only specialty hospital east of Raleigh, serving patients across North Carolina and southern Virginia. It is a privately owned, VECCS-certified Level III hospital operating out of a new, state-of-the-art facility. The hospital offers specialty care in Surgery, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine, supported by Advanced Diagnostic Imaging. They provide round-the-clock staffing by veterinarians and support staff to offer exceptional specialty care.

Requirements

• Experience working in a veterinary emergency, ICU, or critical care setting.
• Strong understanding of veterinary emergency procedures, patient handling, and basic medical terminology.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated care and empathy for canine and feline patients.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during overnight shifts.
• Assist specialty doctors and the veterinary team.
• Monitor patient behavior and condition.
• Communicate patient status accurately to the veterinary team.
• Interact with pet owners professionally and compassionately.
