About The Position

An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse in a fast-paced, high-volume unit. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care and demonstrate critical thinking, adaptability, and a team-oriented mindset. The ICU cares for adults and patients over 15 years old, with conditions including neurosurgery cases, respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery cases, psychiatric emergencies, and gastrointestinal bleeds.

The role involves 12-hour shifts and 36 guaranteed hours per week. Day and night shifts are available, with specific scheduling determined by unit needs. Nurses work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays, or as required by unit needs. The nurse may float to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU and receives two shifts of unit-specific orientation. The designated scrub color is navy blue.

Requirements

• Two years of recent ICU experience.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Strong critical-thinking skills, adaptability, a team-oriented mindset, a positive attitude, willingness to assist colleagues, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to ICU patients, including adults and patients over 15 years old.
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices.
• Read and interpret cardiac telemetry using Draeger heart monitoring systems; dedicated telemetry technicians are not available.
• Float to inpatient units as needed, excluding Maternity/NICU.
• Work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays, or as required by unit needs.
