This is a part-time, weekend position for an ICU Registered Nurse working nights. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The position requires upholding a culture of safety, continuously evaluating outcomes, and taking action as needed. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, continuing education, and maintaining certifications are expected. Ethical decision-making, respecting interdisciplinary roles, and contributing to integrated, unbiased patient care are also key aspects of the role. The nurse will maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation and may be required to float to other units or facilities. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status and age-specific needs.
