About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. The ideal candidate will have strong ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center and must be flexible to float to the Step-Down ICU as needed.

Requirements

• 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Current Illinois Nursing License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Flexibility to float to the Step-Down ICU as needed

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
• Document patient care activities according to standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and in line with hospital policy, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
• Employ critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance patient experience, escalating concerns to the appropriate chain of command when necessary.
