About The Position

With direct supervision from the Director, ICT + Security Group or senior staff, the ICT + Security Designer provides designs for telecommunications, LAN, CCTV, fire alarm, access control, and wireless LAN systems for new construction and renovation projects involving industrial or commercial structures. Designs must conform to client requirements and applicable codes. The role prepares construction drawings using CAD, supports senior staff, coordinates with other disciplines, conducts site measurements and checks, maintains project files, assists with editing specifications, and reviews shop drawings for conformance with contract documents.

Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, electronic engineering, or information technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2–6 years of related experience in data, telecommunications, fire alarm, and security engineering.
Revit proficiency.
Knowledge of applicable BICSI, ANSI/TIA/EIA guidelines, and NFPA 72.
Skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and BIM360.

Nice To Haves

RCDD certification.

Responsibilities

Design or analyze data, telecommunications, fire alarm, and security systems and networks for design and installation, using applicable BICSI, ANSI/TIA/EIA guidelines, and NFPA 72.
Prepare construction working drawings using a CAD system.
Provide CAD support to more senior staff.
Communicate and coordinate with other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.
Conduct field measuring and checking at project sites.
Maintain organized project files containing calculations, correspondence, and appropriate reference materials.
Assist with editing project specifications.
Review project submittals, including shop drawings, for conformance with contract documents and specify actions required for conformance.
Perform related duties as assigned.
