About The Position

The ICS Academic Advisor (GA11) is a temporary, part-time (50% FTE) position within the College of Natural Sciences, Information and Computer Science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. This 11-month role is expected to begin around July 1, 2026, and is contingent upon performance, program needs, and funding availability. The position involves providing academic advising services to undergraduate students in the Department of Information & Computer Sciences, supporting outreach and recruitment efforts, processing advising-related paperwork, assisting with media and newsletter management, and utilizing undergraduate data to enhance advising services and promote student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program.
  • 0 years of experience in academic advising.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person and Zoom advising related services for undergraduate students in the Department of Information & Computer Sciences.
  • Support the function of the ICS Advising Team in advertisement, outreach, and recruitment activities.
  • Process advising-related paperwork.
  • Assist in managing ICS Advising media and newsletter.
  • Work with undergraduate data to improve advising services and promote student success.
  • Other duties as required.
