About The Position

Withum's Tax Services Group is comprised of tax specialists dedicated to ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting obligations are met, while also minimizing or deferring tax payments. Leveraging a comprehensive understanding of international, US federal, state, and local regulations, and an affiliation with HLB International, they develop economical tax strategies globally. Their services encompass Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services. This Senior Manager role, based in one of Withum's California, Chicago, Houston, New Jersey, New York City, or Philadelphia offices, offers the opportunity to work with an integrated team of seasoned CPAs and industry leaders. The position provides a path to Partnership and the chance to build a strong team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license or Masters of Science in Taxation
  • 8+ years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
  • Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing complex C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returns
  • Strategic planning for clients including advising on federal and state compliance issues
  • Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities
  • Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
  • Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
  • Seeking and developing new clients/business
