About The Position

The Ice Monitor plays a key role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all visitors to the Holland Ice Park. This position involves monitoring skating areas, providing excellent customer service and helping maintain the policies and safety of the facility. This is primarily a nights and weekends position.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to skate confidently and comfortably on the ice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
• Evening and weekend availability is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service experience preferred, but not required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional customer service to all patrons.
• Monitor the skating ribbon, pond, and curling area to ensure participant safety and enforce facility rules.
• Assist with skate rentals and returns, including sizing and fitting skates as needed.
• Support the admissions and concessions team as assigned.
• Respond calmly and effectively to customer questions, concerns, or incidents.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up and securing the facility.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including skate rental areas, benches, and spectator spaces.
• Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment issues to the Ice Park Manager or Supervisor.
• Promote a positive, family-friendly atmosphere in alignment with City of Holland Parks & Recreation values.
