About The Position

The Penny Ice Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch in house using locally sourced and organic ingredients. We make unique flavors like Chocolate Pistachio Swirl and Thai Tea! We make timeless flavors like Cookies n' Cream and Straight Up Strawberry, and our classics like Tahitian Vanilla Bean, Fresh Mint Chip, and Dark Chocolate. As an Ice Cream Scooper, you will be creating a fun and memorable experience for our guests by scooping ice cream, making ice cream sundaes and milkshakes and various novelty items, making coffee and tea drinks (proudly serving Verve Coffee!), and of course, toasting our famous marshmallow fluff. We operate two Penny Ice Creamery locations in Santa Clara County: Town and Country Village and State Street Market.

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively communicate
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work alone/ unsupervised
• Must have availability during the week, weekends and holidays on a reliable basis
• Must be available to work 20 hours a week on a reliable basis

Nice To Haves

• Preference will be given to individuals with experience in food service, although we will train the right person.
