About The Position

NV5 is growing and seeking experienced ICC Inspectors to support high-profile projects throughout the State of New Mexico. If you're passionate about quality construction, code compliance, and working on impactful projects, we want to hear from you. Inspectors will perform construction inspections on a variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation projects. Experience working with New Mexico adopted building codes is highly preferred. In addition to statewide projects, NV5 is actively hiring ICC Inspectors for ongoing work at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), one of the nation's premier scientific and research facilities. This is a unique opportunity to join a long-term program expected to continue through 2028 and beyond, providing exceptional project stability and career growth. Inspectors assigned to LANL should be prepared to stay overnight in the Los Alamos area during the work week.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of ICC Soil, Concrete, and Reinforced Special Inspector experience
  • Familiarity with the International Building Code and ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI standards for testing and inspections.
  • Must be a motivated individual who can follow directions.
  • A valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • TTCP and NICET are a plus
  • ICC Special Inspection certifications
  • ACI Field Testing Tech I

Responsibilities

  • ACI and ICC-qualified to provide materials testing on soils, asphalt, and reinforced concrete, with additional qualifications such as structural steel, fabricated structural steel, fireproofing, architectural, and mechanical.
  • Perform inspections to verify construction is completed in adherence with approved codes, laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards.
  • Verify that construction complies with approved plans.
  • Read, research, and objectively interpret code requirements.
  • Maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive records related to inspection activities.
  • Review complex engineering documents to ensure construction compliance.
  • Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients through participation in project meetings and daily site interaction.
  • Prepare daily reports for submission to the QC Manager.
