About The Position

Under general supervision, the Investment Banking Analyst supports Stifel’s Real Estate Investment Banking Group, which provides advisory and capital-raising services to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Real Estate Operating Companies (REOCs). The Analyst is responsible for conducting industry and property-sector research, building models to analyze company projections and/or potential transactions, drafting offering memorandums for public or private financings, drafting client presentation materials, and working with clients to execute financing or merger transactions.

Requirements

  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis with significant exposure to finance and accounting.
  • Demonstrated interest in real estate, REITs, or real estate capital markets.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Knowledge of the financial markets, the real estate industry, the analysis and reporting of financial data, and associated terminology.
  • Highly-motivated and energetic while managing one's time, and effectively managing multiple projects and deadlines to ensure the timely completion of all items.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, superior attention to detail, integrity, maturity, intellectual curiosity, initiative and good judgment; takes pride of ownership for wins and accountability for losses/mistakes with the ability to work in teams.
  • Excellent conceptualization, presentation and communication skills to effectively execute change.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field
  • 0-2 years as a business analyst, or related experience in financial services.
  • Recent (2026) graduates and candidates with 1-2 years of investment banking, real estate, or corporate finance experience will both be considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with S&P Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg, and with real estate data and valuation tools (e.g., CoStar, ARGUS)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct real estate industry and property-sector research, including REIT and REOC comparable company, market, and asset-level analysis.
  • Build financial models to analyze company projections or potential transactions, including NAV, FFO/AFFO, and property-level cash flow analyses.
  • Draft offering memorandums for public or private financings, including common stock, preferred stock, convertible and hybrid securities, and debt securities.
  • Prepare client presentation materials for management teams and Boards of Directors.
  • Work with clients to execute equity and debt capital markets, private placement, joint venture, and merger transactions.
  • Some travel by car and/or in conjunction with local, regional and/or national travel, up to 10%.
