About The Position

Our Client is seeking a mid-level Technology Automation Engineer to join our Access Elevation Services (AES) team. This role supports National IT Identity & Access Management (IAM) and is primarily responsible for delivering automation that streamlines and transforms privileged access elevation systems. You will work in a hybrid Kanban methodology environment under the direction of the AES Service Owner, with a primary focus on designing, configuring, and deploying automated solutions in Unix, Linux, and AIX environments. This includes replacing and enhancing manual or inefficient processes, augmenting technology delivery, and strengthening privileged access management security practices. This position is dedicated to automation delivery.

Requirements

Strong understanding of Nix (Unix, Linux, RHEL, AIX, Solaris, etc.) operating system principles.
Typically requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in a security role with primary focus on Nix operating systems.
Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field (technical/vocational school or accredited college/university), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong working knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, PowerShell, and Python.
Thorough understanding of information security privileged access principles (CISSP preferred).
U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status, with at least 3+ years of U.S. residency from the date of legal entry.

Responsibilities

Partner with the AES Service Owner to identify, prioritize, and plan automation delivery.
Engage with customers, service partners, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to gather and define automation requirements.
Collaborate with peer automation engineers to design and develop script automation supporting: server life cycle processes, business workflow automation, privileged access elevation capabilities, system integration solutions, enterprise technology delivery.
Design, program, model, and test automated systems.
Develop automation improvements, strategies, and frameworks.
Apply programming skills to deliver automation solutions for rapidly changing design needs.
Document processes, procedures, and training materials for AES staff and stakeholders.
Participate in weekly stand-ups and periodic team meetings.
Continuously improve processes, drive cost reduction activities, and build domain knowledge.
Provide technical mentorship to junior team members, including code reviews.
