About The Position

Swissport, a global leader in aviation services, is seeking a dedicated Cargo Supervisor to join their team. The Cargo Warehouse is responsible for warehouse and storage facilities, loading and unloading air cargo, ensuring cargo documentation is prepared accurately and timely, and adhering to regulatory requirements. The Supervisor will lead a team during turnarounds or in specific areas/tasks, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and operational performance standards in line with company policies and values. The expected pay rate is $24.23/hour.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • 5 years' operational experience in ground handling, cargo, or aircraft fueling services
  • Excellent working knowledge of proper safety practices, procedural compliance, and operations delivery
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to coach and motivate teams to deliver high quality standards
  • Ability to resolve problems with a focus on excellent customer service
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional, work relationships with teams and customers

Responsibilities

  • Act as a functional member of the operational team on a shift basis.
  • Serve as a technical expert on the ground for complex issues.
  • Coach and coordinate the assigned team.
  • Perform tasks requiring a senior staff member, such as handling aircraft doors.
  • Ensure accurate service capturing for invoicing and complete flight/task reports.
  • Allocate tasks to team members during shifts or within specific operational areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all Operating Procedures (SOP, LOP) and Station Safety Rules, and supervise Emergency Procedures.
  • Supervise all Operations and stand in for Duty Manager as required.
  • Provide work instructions to the team during shifts or turnarounds.
  • Lead and train employees on the job.
  • Provide feedback to duty managers on employee performance for development and disciplinary conversations.
  • Escalate customer complaints to duty managers promptly.
  • Assume responsibility for day-of allocation tasks in smaller stations on a rotating basis.
  • Conduct QHSSE related daily checks/inspections and report accurately.
  • Oversee Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities to reduce injuries and damage.
