Together we can transform the future of energy. Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE) is seeking a motivated and curious IT Intern to join our Austin, Texas office for Summer 2025. This internship is designed for students at any stage of their academic journey who are interested in exploring a career in Information Technology. As an IT Intern at EPE, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting real users and systems in a professional enterprise environment. You’ll work closely with our Help Desk, Systems Administration, and IT Leadership teams, gaining exposure to a wide range of IT disciplines including end-user support, infrastructure, security, networking, and IT operations. This role is ideal for students who want practical experience, mentorship, and a better understanding of how IT supports a growing engineering organization.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
  • All levels welcome — from first-year students to recent graduates
  • Basic familiarity with computers, operating systems, and common applications (such as Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365)
  • An interest in learning how IT systems, networks, and support environments work
  • A willingness to ask questions, learn new technologies, and take initiative
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day Help Desk support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Support IT team members with systems administration and infrastructure tasks
  • Learn about IT security, networking, and best practices in an enterprise environment
  • Shadow and collaborate with IT Leadership on operational initiatives and projects
  • Help with asset management, documentation, and process improvement activities
  • Gain exposure to the tools, platforms, and workflows used to support a distributed organization
