About The Position

The Identified Offenders Program is an essential & critical hub between the Illinois State Police and the contractor for IDPH to maintain operations of this state legislative mandated program. This position performs in a confidential capacity by evaluating time sensitive documents related the Identified Offender’s admission and discharge process within the long term care facilities, organizing, and reviewing criminal history records, risk analysis and security recommendation reports which are provided to the facilities and maintained in a statewide registry. The IOP mission is to improve safety within long-term care facilities by identifying individuals with a criminal conviction history and conducting a behavioral risk assessment to determine the potential risk those identified individuals pose to other patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
  • Requires completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains various confidential records and reports to send to the Illinois State Police and forensic psychologist.
  • Provides technical office support functions for the Identified Offender Program; duties include keyboarding, filing, faxing, shredding, scanning, and archiving files.
  • Utilizes a variety of reference materials including laws, program policies and procedures, and public acts in completing and preparing required program documents for the Identified Offender Program.
  • Communicates, establishes, and maintains a professional relationship with facilities staff, Illinois State Police, vendors, other IDPH divisions, state agencies, public and private external organizations.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
