I&M Segment Applied AI Lead

LegenceBeltsville, MD
$145,000 - $180,000Remote

About The Position

The I&M Segment Applied AI Lead implements AI solutions for the Installation & Maintenance business — across operations, service delivery, maintenance, and the plant- and field-side work that defines the segment. Within the strategy and governance set by leadership, this role builds and deploys working solutions for operations and service problems, trains technicians, planners, and operations leaders to use them, and drives adoption on the floor and in the field. It is for someone who can prototype against operational data and then stand on a plant floor or service site until the tool sticks. It implements; it does not set strategy.

Requirements

  • 7+ years across industrial/operations technology, software/data, or technical implementation, with hands-on LLM experience in a business setting.
  • Working knowledge of industrial operations, maintenance, or field-service workflows and the systems that support them.
  • Ability to build and deploy solutions (Python, TypeScript, or low-code) and to train non-technical operations and field teams to use them.
  • Hands-on fluency with agentic AI tools — building and automating with Claude Code, and enabling users with Claude Cowork and Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork.
  • Credible and comfortable with operations and field teams on site.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with OT/industrial data (historian/SCADA, IoT, edge) and maintenance/service systems (CMMS/EAM, FSM).
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facility/energy-services environments.
  • Experience applying governance and data-handling standards in practice

Responsibilities

  • Build and deploy AI solutions for real operations and service problems — maintenance and service workflows, planning and dispatch, asset and energy performance, quality, safety, and technician enablement.
  • Train and enable operations and field teams — technicians, planners, operations leaders — with hands-on sessions and support that fit how the work really gets done, accounting for OT/IoT and connectivity realities.
  • Drive adoption in operations and the field: run pilots, work alongside teams, remove friction, and grow self-service use.
  • Deploy, configure, and support the agentic AI tools the company has selected for I&M users — Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Cowork, Claude Cowork, and Claude Code — and use them directly to build solutions, integrating with operational and service systems where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate and E&C Applied AI Leads as peers — reuse and share solutions, templates, and patterns so work is not duplicated across segments.
  • Apply the governance and OT/IT data-handling standards leadership sets, and flag operational risks and gaps back to leadership.
  • Quantify and report impact in segment terms: unplanned downtime avoided, mean-time-to-repair, first-time-fix rate, energy and asset performance, service margin.

Benefits

  • 401(k) Plan with Company Match: Currently match contributions dollar-for-dollar up to 4% of eligible pay; immediate vesting.
  • Health & Welfare Benefits: Employer provided medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, Employee Assistance Program and accident & illness coverage.
  • Life and Disability Insurance: Employer provided basic life insurance and AD&D valued at 50K coverage amount with the option for voluntary buy up for additional coverage.
  • Time Off: Flexible non-accrual vacation; company holidays per policy. (For California employees, this is separate from California paid sick leave, if applicable.)
  • Expenses: Business travel and related expenses reimbursed per company policy.
