About The Position

The I&E Field Technician assumes responsibility for providing technical services related to installation, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of Platinum’s products while maintaining effective communications with fellow team members and clients. The I&E Field Technician must perform his duties to assure the safety of himself and those around him and assure cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.

Requirements

Must display and utilize a vast knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical experience.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, twist/turn, push/pull, squat, crawl/kneel, reach above shoulder.
Must be able to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm movements.
Average close/distance vision necessary in order to record data and operate equipment.
Must be able to communicate effectively and be understood by others.
Must be able to hear the various equipment in order to diagnose issues.
Excellent customer support and troubleshooting skills.
Prior experience/familiarity with basic hand and power tools and electrical meters.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Possess aptitudes to learn the basic of combustion, natural draft burners and all parts associated with automation of natural gas burning equipment.
Able to read and comprehend technical operational manuals, do load studies and related calculations.
Ability to apply a basic understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, operations and duties.
Ability to apply sound judgement and reasoning when dealing with any problem.
Ability to apply moderate knowledge of computers and office equipment.
Technical degree or a minimum of 2 years work experience related to Automation, Instrumentation, or Electrical.
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to operate company vehicle.
High School Diploma Required, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide technical services related to installation, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of Platinum’s products.
Maintain effective communications with fellow team members and clients.
Ensure safety of self and others, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.
Display and utilize vast knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical experience.
Travel onsite to complete service work and monthly preventative maintenance requirements for Platinum’s products.
Inspect, investigate, and troubleshoot equipment for quality control and improvements.
Read and understand P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and technical operational manuals.
Work and communicate safely and effectively with field operations, fellow employees, and contractors.
Successfully complete and start up new installations of Platinum products in the field.
Manage and maintain appropriate stock levels of inventory and tools.
Secure appropriate parts and supplies through designated procurement system.
Ensure all appropriate records are maintained such as inventories of parts, equipment, and tools, work orders, timesheets, etc.
Provide onsite and remote technical support to necessary persons (customers, manufacturers, distributors, etc.) for product installs, troubleshooting, and training.
Use and adapt computer programs to retrieve and analyze data.
Be available for 24-hour on-call duty and subject to call-outs and travel time for work associated with field operations and/or emergency response.
Willingness to travel.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area and associated equipment.
Proactively respond and adapt in the work environment to meet the highest standards.
Prioritize and coordinate work activities to complete jobs individually and as a team.
Express ideas clearly in written and oral communication with team members and management to complete various jobs.
Understand and utilize safety procedures and safety equipment at all times.
